Generally, I spend about two hours thinking about and writing each of my two weekly posts. With that time commitment, I’m becoming more interested in how many people are reading the site. Determining how many people visit my site is a little hard. I can count sessions or page views, but I am finding it hard to determine how many people are reading the site via a RSS reader. So I’ve decided to move my RSS feeds over to Feedburner’s Service.
The free services of Feedburner will allow me to see how many subscribers I have. No personal information is shown, just number of subscribers and the rss reader software used.
Please, if you are visiting the Goodies Blog via a RSS reader, point your feeds to my new Feedburner feed at http://feeds.feedburner.com/Goodiesblogcom.
What is RSS?
RSS is a file format that allows readers to read summaries of my site’s content via various software products. The basic idea is it allows you to collect content from numerous sites quickly and read the summary’s without actually visiting the site. If you would like more information, visit the Wikipedia entry for RSS Feed or visit this page for a list of RSS Software.
