Red Gold packers of premium tomato and & food products sent in a package of promotional goodies. It contained two very cool adjustable measuring spoons, three refrigerator magnets, coupons and a letter which taught me a few interesting facts about the packing of tomatoes and Red Gold.
The most exciting goodie was the two “dynamic” measuring spoons, which allow you to measure from one teaspoon to one tablespoon in varying increments. It looks as if you could even measure liquids as long as you are quick. The sliding adjustable part moves so you can change the spoon size, even comes off of the spoon for cleaning.
This was the first time I’ve seen such a spoon and it is clearly a unique goodie. I especially enjoy it because it is unique, useful, and an improvement over the regular set of measuring spoons, yet still a low cost goodie that a company can afford to give out.
The refrigerator magnets were also nice. They are simple reproductions of the Red Gold Whole Peeled Tomatoes, Petite Diced Tomatoes, and Pasta Sauce – Traditional. I like them because they are classic images of the product, not bright logos or promotional copy.
On to the letter and what I learned from it! First off, the goodies that they sent me are items which they hand out at the many fairs and festivals that they attend each year.
Second off, I learned a little bit about the preparation of food for canning and Red Gold.
Its nice to know that they are packing quality tomatoes quickly. Its helped answer a question I’ve wondered about at times – what kind of oranges go into orange juice? Do they ship off all the good oranges to sell by the pound and then save the rotting oranges for juice? Now I at least know that Red Gold is packing their fancy tomatoes exceedingly quickly.
I would also like to note that this is the second company that dug into their stash of promotional goodies to share with me. Overall I would have expected to get more promotional goodies than product samples. Maybe since I targeted food and beverage companies initially that helped boost the amount of product samples received.
