Last fall, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian opened in Washington DC. We missed the opening and thus missed samples of Honest Tea’s First Nation Peppermint blend. So we were excited to get samples at the Green Festival.
The flavor of the tea disappointed me a little as it has a much more gentle peppermint flavor than your standard peppermint tea. However, I’m sure that that is a plus for someone else (including my wife), and it does help make the tea an appropriate after dinner drink.
First Nation Peppermint is organic and is made in partnership with I’tchik Herb, owned by Theresa Sends-Part-Home of the Crow Nation. Honest Tea shares the revenue from the tea with the Crow community.
The tea is worth a try, but be ready for a mellow peppermint flavor.

Our professor brought in every type of tea he could find – I couldn’t find one I didn’t enjoy. Be warned, these are for people who like tea – not sugar water.
